Environmental Engineering Support from Planning Through Construction
Few construction or resource extraction projects can be completed without environmental engineering oversight. Brownfield Environmental Engineering Resources provides the technical support needed to integrate environmental requirements into construction planning and execution — minimizing delays, avoiding compliance issues, and protecting your project investment.
Our engineering and construction-phase services are designed to work alongside your existing project team. We collaborate with contractors, project managers, and regulatory agencies to ensure that environmental controls are in place, documentation is complete, and any site conditions are managed appropriately from the start.
Environmental Construction Monitoring
When contaminated soil or groundwater is discovered at a construction site, proper removal and documentation are critical. Brownfield develops and implements soil management plans that ensure:
- Soil is properly characterized and removed from the project site
- Required chemical analysis is performed on excavated soil and waste
- Contaminated material is transported to and received by a licensed disposal facility
- Documentation is maintained for regulatory reporting and project records
Our goal throughout every construction project is to protect your interests, maintain compliance, and keep the project moving forward.

Regulatory Coordination
Brownfield maintains established working relationships with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). Our team is experienced in coordinating with regulators to address site conditions, obtain necessary approvals, and maintain project momentum. We balance the desired outcomes of our clients with the a clear-eyed knowledge of the rules that govern our work. For example, in Wisconsin we are adept at the solid waste ch. NR 500 series and remediation rules ch. NR 700 series administrative rules. In Illinois we work our clients through the IEPA Site Remediation Program (SRP) and their Tiered Approach to Corrective Action Objectives (TACO) rules under Title 35 Ill. Adm. Code 740 and 742.
